Anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial,astringent, vulnerary

Medicinal Uses:

1)This botanical is indicated for use with inflammatory conditions of the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and gastrointestinal tract.  Ulceration from mouth through duodenum.

2)Sore throat due to allergies

3)It is specifically indicated for aphthous stomatitis.  The herb both tones and heals tissue, speeding up the healing process.

4)Good bitter thus stimulate enzyme secretion.

5)It has some anti-microbial action against fungus and virus. 

6)There are  some indications that it has some immunomodulatory action, though more research needs to be done to verify.

7)It is used for pharyngitis, thrush, inflammatory bowel disease, gastric and duodenal ulcers  and aphthous stomatitis. 

8)Chronic tonsilitis where there is a lot of cryps.

9)Treat herpes symplex for the mouth and gum , good since attack all aspect of the herpes and make the mucous membrane of the mouth more resistance.

10)Could use it for vaginal and penil herpes

11)Use as suppository for anal herpes

Pharmacy:

            Tincture (1:5, 1:1):    15-60 drops TIC to QID

            Powder:         10-60 grains
