Anti-spasmodic, anti-viral, astringent, carminative, cholagogue, diaphoretic, expectorant, sedative, vulnerary
Medicinal Uses:
1)       The best known use of Hyssop is for treatment of coughs like bronchitis.  It relaxes the smooth muscle in the bronchi, thins the mucus while it relaxes the patient.
2)         I often use it for treatment of asthma, especially in children. It also is useful in treatment of colds and influenza.
3)       Include in formula for children to treat cough or any thing spasmodic
4)       It has a nervine effect and can be added to digestive or respiratory formulas in treatment of patients with anxiety or restlessness.thus good to treat children since they are restless when they cannot breath.
5)       Volitile oil have sweet and spice when you enhale the volatile oil
6)       Effect more than one system in humans thus could use it as inhalant, infuse, tincure.
7)       Combine and gentle with other herbs
8)       The carminative action makes it a useful addition  for treatment of IBS , gastritis and gastroenteritis especially if pain and restlessness are present.  It relaxes the smooth muscle in the intestines and has an anti-microbial effect.

            Infusion:  1 tsp/cup H2O TID – QID
            Tincture (1:5):  2-4 ml TID – QID
            Fluid Extract (1:1):  1-3 ml TID
