Medicinal Actions:

Anti-microbial, anti-spasmodic, demulcent, expectorant

Medicinal Uses:

1)Drosera is a relaxing expectorant, used in the treatment of spasmodic, dry coughs.

2) You would consider it for treatment of pertussis, asthma, bronchitis and coughs accompanying viral infection.

3) It has been shown to exhibit anti-bacterial action against streptococcus, staphylococcus and pneumococcus.

4)Because of the demulcent action, it is used to provide mucilage to both the respiratory and digestive systems. 

Ecology:  Be careful of sources, it is threatened in many areas, though it may be abundant in your area.

Pharmacy:

            Infusion:  1 tsp. Herb/cup H2O TID

            Tincture (1:5):  1 – 2 ml TID
